California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and applies solely to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

3. We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information
Important Notice
SnapGenius does not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not exchange your data for monetary or other valuable consideration. While we use analytics services (Databuddy, OneDollarStats) that may be considered "sharing" under CCPA, we do not receive payment for this data sharing.
We share personal information with:
- Service providers: Companies that help us operate the platform (hosting, database, payment processing)
- Analytics partners: To understand how users interact with our services (only with your consent)
- Legal authorities: When required by law or to protect our rights
All third-party service providers are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only for specified purposes.
4. How to Exercise Your Rights
4.1 Submit a Request
You can exercise your CCPA rights by:

Include in your request:
- Your full name
- Email address associated with your account
- Description of your request

4.2 Verification Process
To protect your privacy, we must verify your identity before processing requests:
- For "Right to Know" requests: We'll verify your email address and ask you to confirm account details (registration date, recent activity)
- For deletion requests: Additional verification may be required, including answering security questions or providing government-issued ID
- For authorized agent requests: Provide signed written permission from the consumer and verify your identity
4.3 Response Timeline
- We will acknowledge receipt of your request within 10 business days
- We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 calendar days
- If we need more time (up to 90 days total), we will notify you with the reason for extension
5. Opt-Out of Data Sharing
While we do not sell your data, you can opt out of analytics tracking (which may constitute "sharing" under CCPA):
Option 1: Cookie Preferences
Decline analytics cookies when prompted, or update your preferences in the Cookie Settings.
Option 2: Do Not Track
Enable "Do Not Track" (DNT) in your browser settings. We honor DNT signals and will not load analytics without explicit consent.
Option 3: Account Settings
Disable analytics in your account settings under "Privacy & Security" → "Data Sharing Preferences".
Option 4: Email Request
Email privacy@firat.rw with subject line "CCPA Opt-Out Request".
6. Authorized Agents
You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf. The agent must:
- Provide signed written authorization from you
- Verify their own identity
- Verify your identity (we may contact you directly to confirm)
Note: We may deny requests from agents who cannot demonstrate valid authorization.
7. Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights. This means we will not:
- Deny you goods or services
- Charge different prices or rates
- Provide a different level or quality of service
- Suggest you will receive a different price or quality of service
However, we may offer financial incentives permitted by law. For example, we may offer discounts for providing certain information (e.g., email for newsletters). These programs are opt-in and you can withdraw at any time.
8. Retention and Deletion
We retain personal information as long as necessary to:
- Provide our services
- Comply with legal obligations
- Resolve disputes
- Enforce agreements
When you request deletion, we will:
- Delete personal information from our active databases within 45 days
- Instruct service providers to delete your data
- Retain only what's required by law or for legitimate business purposes
Exceptions: We may retain information to complete transactions, detect fraud, comply with legal obligations, or exercise our legal rights.
9. Minors Under 16
We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of minors under 16 years of age. Our services are not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
10. Shine the Light Law
California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code Section 1798.83) allows California residents to request information about disclosure of personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes.
We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
